In this report, OUR WORLD GIST brings to you two in one report of Momoh Omuya Opiya’s encounter with his political leader, Hon. Ado Moses Okino.

In what he titled, “My Experience With Our Most Revered Leader, Chief Ado Moses Okino Part 1&2”, Hon. Momoh Omuya Opiya eulogised the leadership qualities of Chief Ado Moses Okino.

Let us read his epic narration;

“Our political journey, considering it from 2007 till date, was not so easy.

As a close follower of our leader, I can understand why the adversaries are so resistant against the good intention of Chief Ado Moses Okino for the advancement of our people.

Our God who never forsook those that did good has always stood by him through thick and thin.

Okino will never tax anyone that he has helped to gain any appointment or helped in any form….never!

He takes delight in helping people no matter how inconvenient it is.

I can vividly remember in October, 2007, when I took my first salary and first 28 days allowance as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor…

The money was huge, I have never seen such amount of money before in my life.

I packaged the money in a black nylon bag and moved straight to meet with our leader at Liberty Hotel, Lokoja where he lodged.

As an obedient servant, I explained to him about the contents in the bag and told him that I have brought the money to him so that he can do the sharing since the appointment I was holding was solely given to me by him.

As a matter of fact, Governor Ibrahim Idris whom I served, knows me for the first time on my swearing in.

To my greatest surprise and unbelief, he laughed with astonishment and told me that the money is mine and he will not take a kobo from it. I pleaded with him to do as requested, he told me that I have just done what no one, whom he has given appointment in the past, either elective positions or political appointments, has ever done.

He prayed for me but he insisted that I should take the whole money to my Bank.

What manner of man is Okino?

At the time he treated me with the incredible gesture above, he was out of office after the completion of his tenure as Member, House of Rep.

It is amazing and incredible.

I will forever honour, cherish and appreciate this destiny changer, Hon. Okino”.

PART 2.

From The Left, Hon. Momoh Omuya Opiya With His Political Leader, Chief Hon. Ado Moses Okino

” My first meeting with Chief Ado Moses Okino was in January 2000 when I traveled from Sokoto to Lokoja to attend a Job interview with the newly established Kogi State University, Anyigba, after the completion of my Master’s Degree in Management Studies.

I decided to visit Hon. Okino at his office, as Commissioner for Information then, after being informed that the interview I came for has been conducted and concluded before my arrival.

My frustration was later relieved with the reception accorded me by him, after my introduction and stating my mission.

He made several frantic efforts to help me achieve the purpose of my coming but to no avail.

He then told me and two others to wait for another interview for Federal Civil Service employments that took place at FAREC office in Lokoja two days later.

One of his candidates that attended the interview with me then was late Ojo Ajobunu, a bosom friend of mine.

The federal job vacancies were limited and shared on local government basis. Only one of us, Mr.

Ibrahim Anivasa, from Ajaokuta LGA, was considered and he is presently working with Federal Government College, Benue State.

Despite the disappointment, I was extremely grateful and happy for the love and uncommon attention shown to help me get the job.

I expressed my appreciation to him before I traveled back to Sokoto State.

Two months after my visit to Lokoja, I received a message through my aunty that residence in Sokoto, Mrs. Fatima Dange, a Chief Magistrate with Sokoto Judiciary then and a good friend to our leader(Okino), that I have been requested by Chief Okino to come home urgently for an employment interview.

Without wasting time, I traveled to Lokoja and after all official processes, I was employed as Senior Commercial Officer with Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation(Radio Kogi) on March, 2000 on Grade Level 09.

Out of twelve Senior staff employed at that time, six of us were from Kogi Central( Ebiras),among them are: Helen Aliyu, Princess Hauwa H. Opotu, Suraj Suleiman, Idowu Aliu.

This was indeed a remarkable feat yet to be broken by anyone.

What a leader with great and uncommon affection towards his people.

With all honesty and frankness, no commissioner can dare do what he has done to influenced six slots out of twelve employment slots under the then Governor of the State, Prince Abubakar Audu.

All for the love of his people and passion to help them.

We shall keep celebrating you, Chief Moses Ado Okino, while praying that God will continues to bless and protect you with good health and long life”.
