Yesterday being 26th December 2019 was a turning point as some members of Agada Development Association A.D.A were honoured with Merit Awards by the Association.
Speaking at Agada Village square, the chairman of the Award Committee, Mr Francis Ojoh who is also the former President of the Association said, “Awardees were carefully selected based on their meaningful contributions to Agada community and the society at large”.
Mr Francis Ojoh who gave the names of the Awardees to include; Mr Abbas J. Boyi Amade, Mrs Alikeju Evelyn Odawn Amade and one Chiemeka Morgan Imauche, a corps Member serving in Ogbabede Community Secondary School (O.C.S.S), Agada said, ” the awardees were selected based on their contribution to the community.
The awards in different categories were presented by Rev. Ilemona John, Former Permanent Secretary and Administration, Kogi State Government House – Lokoja, Engr. Alhaji Hussaini Ajabi, National President of A.D.A, and Mallam Amuda Iduh, the Gago of Agada Community.
Earlier, the National chairman of the Association, Engr. Alhaji Hussaini Ajabi eulogized the Awardees for their outstanding contributions to Agada community urging other sons and daughters of Agada community to emulate their selfless service.
Recall that Mr Abbas J. Boyi Amade and Mrs Alikeju Evelyn Odawn Amade have at different times influenced both the State and the Federal government to erect six blocks of class rooms for Agada Primary School.
Similarly, Mr Chiemeka Morgan Imauche a corps member serving at O.C.S.S, Agada was also considered for the award for influencing electricity project to Ogbabede Ward.
Special prayers were offered by Rev Ogala Sani, Former Director General of Radio Kogi and Mallam Momoh Ojoh for awardees’ well being and rapid elevation in their various endeavours.
The awards which were given during A.D.A’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) witnessed large turn out of Agada Dwellers and invited Guests.
In another related development, some widows and widowers of Agada’s community who are on the monthly stipends of the World Bank Group were also recognized for keeping the community clean.
Mr Daniel Akure Boyi who is the leader of the group said, the body is instituted by the World Bank Group to render voluntary service to Agada community and its environs stressing that, the group will strive hard to justify the confidence response in them to serve the community.
