Nigerian veteran actor, Pete Edochie is currently trending on twitter as he says, Young Men who kneel down to propose are fools.
Pete Edochie says, kneeling down to propose to a woman is never part of African culture but acculturation from western world.
Pete Edochie added that he has been into marriage for 51 years so far and that keeling down to propose to a lady amount to debasing a man’s glory who is meant to be the head of the house according to African culture.
He explained further that kneeling down for a woman to propose in the name of civilization amount to transferring a man’s power and destiny to a woman.
He said, the reason why women take over the house in western world any time, there is marriage break – up, is traceable to the fact that “their men kneel down to propose to them from the beginning thereby transferring power and destiny to their women”.
Pete Edochie advised African Young Men to imbibe African culture instead of adopting civilization or acculturation to degrade the virtues and tenets of African culture.
