It was a celebration and handful testimonies as Pastor Samuel Ojeba Amade and former ‘Miss Ojima Iye Musa exchange marital vows at Revival House Church, Lokoja Kogi State – Nigeria.
At Revival house Church, the presiding Pastor, Dr. Halidu Abraham who led other men of God to administer the marriage service, said, the greatest quality couple needs to succeed in a marriage is “patience”.
Pastor Dr. Halidu Abraham who also emphasized on the need for couple to tolerate one another in order to succeed in this life time journey also said, marriage is the only school couple will collect certificate from the day the journey begins but stressing that couple should be humble enough to learn from one and another as they will never graduate even until the resurrection morning.
Pastor Halidu who quoted several scriptions of the Bible said, a woman should recognise that a man is the head of the house irrespective of the financial status of a man.
This he also said that, a man as the head of the house, should work hard to provide the needs of the family emphasing that leaving the responsibilities of the house wholly for a woman who supposed to play a supportive role reduces a man and clamping down a man’s authority who is ideally meant to be the head of the house.
He sighted the story of Esau and that of Jacob where Esau sold his birthright to Jacob because of food.
He therefore said that for a man to be able to stamp his God giving authority in his house, he should be able to provide for his immediate home.
He however cautioned that a man should exercise his authority with love by not abusing it in such a way that a woman will be humiliated.
He warned against third party influence on the family while saying that a woman should not mistake a man’s authority at home as an act of wickedness but accept it as is meant for the growth and development of the home.
Speaking at the reception ground held at Idrinana Hotel, Lokoja, Barrister Onoja who is the chairman of the ceremony advised the couple to allow God to champion their home’s affairs adding that he has been married for 36 years but is by God’s grace that he has come along way with his beloved wife.
The wedding was well attended by family members of both the groom and that of the bride, staff of Independent Electoral Commission ( INEC ), Staff of Union Bank, friends and well wishers of the couple.
The attendees were later entertained with good gospel music, food and a lot of wine to dine and wine with.
