Father of five children identified as Umar has reportedly collapsed in Tuga Maje area of Abuja due to what many now termed as ” #HungerVirus ” orchestrated by lockdown as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to information made available by residents of the area, Mallam Umar collapsed because he has not been eating for days as the little food he has at home before the pandemic is left for the children and the wife to feed upon even though the said food is grossly inadequate for the family.

Umar who is a father of five children with a wife is a Shoe Repairer who hawks around on daily basis to earn a living but since the Lockdown in Abuja, information gathered that he has not been able to do his normal business routine which brings food to his family’s table.

As the time of filing this report, a good Samaritan has rushed Umar to a private Hospital yet to mentioned for medical attention while some well to do residents of the area have gathered food items to support Umar’s family.

Earlier, Mr Bernard who spoke unbehalf of the Residents lambasted the Federal Government for not making palliative stimulus available for Nigerians before embarking on Lockdown.

Mr Bernard who described federal government lockdown as “copy and paste” noted with dismay that other Nations of the world including small African countries like Rwanda, Ghana, Cape Verde, Gabon, Mali not to mention South, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Tanzania, Togo, Cameroon are all making stimulus packages for their citizens but here in Nigeria, citizens are lockeddown without such consideration.

Bernard summarily demands Federal Government to use BVN and credit each Nigerian at least with the sum of N250,000 to enable them feed while the lockdown lasts.

In the same vain, ourworldgist equally appeal to Nigerian government, donors, NGOs and other philanthropists to do something fast during Lockdown in order to avert “HungerVirus” leading to death that might be colossal than COVID-19 effect.

Note that “HungerVirus” is a new word coined from “Coronavirus” as many are of the opinion that Hunger arising from lockdown is more deadly that Coronavirus that can be managed.
