Federal High Court Benin has again refused an application for an interim injunction by the Obaseki group to restrain APC from conducting direct primary in Edo State but ordered that parties should maintain status quo.
The matter was adjourned to Thursday this week for hearing of the substantive suit.
This is coming as a big blow to the Obaseki campaign organisation as the embattled Governor has tried spiritedly to put a stop to the direct mode of primary by the party.
In the past two weeks, it has been one court to the other looking for a restraining order against the APC from holding its constitutional primaries to determine who to fly the party’s flag.
Already the APC which happens to be the ruling party in the state is at loggerheads with the executive governor, Godwin Obaseki.
The party claims Obaseki has jettisoned the party’s manifesto and as well neglected its members and leaders.
They have vowed to give Obaseki the Ambode treatment.
How Obaseki’s extricates himself from this deep turmoil is yet to even be imagined as the forces against him seem insurmountable.
