Let us read Nguvan Kyenge, full presentation below:
“COMPETITION Vs COLLABORATION
world over good Collaboration has always achieved more, meanwhile, others blind fold themselves with Competive masks and achieve less than they would if they came together.
Two types of Mindsets see Competition and collaboration differently.
The #Scarcitymindset believe in lack and see Competition as Any person or entity which is a rival against them.
👉They see life as having little, as though there were only one pie out there. And if someone were to get a big piece of the pie, it would mean less for everybody else.
👉People with a Scarcity Mentality have a very difficult time sharing recognition and credit, power or profit—even with those who help in the production.
👉 They also have a hard time being genuinely happy for the success of other people.
👉For them it’s about who takes the credit.
#AbundantMindset- believe in abundance!!! Collaboration to them means the action of working with someone to produce or create something Bigger for more impact.
👉They flow out of a deep inner sense of personal worth and security.
👉 they believe there is plenty out there and enough to spare for everybody.
👉 results is the sharing of prestige, recognition, profits and decision-making.
👉It opens possibilities, options, alternatives and creativity.
👉For them it’s all about “mission accomplished”
In his book, Stephen Covey says when you live with a scarcity mindset, you compete for available resources, even when there is an ABUNDANCE of them.😱😱
If in partnership you have goals to achieve together as a team you’ve got to stop looking at what you will get as a person and instead focus on what you can give to help achieve the collective vision.
Sadly I have observed that Who gets the Shine is always the major problem.
But The shine and success you can get comes only as a bi product of being personally SOLD OUT to the mission, and not the other way round. It’s not magic!
Collaboration is about giving and serving. Competition is about taking away and lack.
Part of the JMTDNA John Maxwell asserts repeatedly into members is that one is too small a number to achieve greatness and indeed teamwork is the heart of great achievement where You cant Do ANYTHING of REAL VALUE ALONE
Today I’d like you to think about the areas in your life that you have been competing vs. collaborating ”
See you @ the top”.
