Following Npower Beneficiaries After Protest the Minister in charge of the programme, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has officially reacted to the protest.
Hajiya Sadiya made her reaction known on Monday morning being 27th July 2020 on her twitter handle.
She says, “I received news of a protest at the National Assembly by N-Power Batch A and B beneficiaries who presented a list of demands which we are reviewing and will address as practically possible”
In her follow up tweet, she added, “Let me reiterate that the exiting of Batch A and B is not punitive but as a means of providing an opportunity for their brothers and sisters to also access the programme. Batch A and B beneficiaries remain our pride and worthy ambassadors”.
Meanwhile, civil society along Npower Beneficiaries asked some fundamental questions which the Minister could not respond to.
Some of these questions go thus:
Nigeria for All Nigerian Citizen Forum asks, “You said over 80,000 of them which you owe backlogs since march are affiliated to MDAs, why not publish their names with the MDAs they work so they can be adequately punished? With all due respect Ma, I think you are playing Nigerian youths”.
To Comr.Simeon,S , he observes, “Our demands are affordable, it’s not up to the total budget of Militants and Repentance Boko-Haram. We are graduates who paid to undergo certain training that will change our mindset. Treat us fairly in return. Place us where you would’ve placed your offsprings after their education”.
Jiji Chinwendu also says, “Pls, our demands are practically possible if u put it into consideration. Here in this country we hear of loots here and there amounting to not even up to wat we are demanding for and I know we have the capacity as a country to tackle this situation financially. Pls, consider it”.
In his own reaction, ogidigbo stanley says,
“If you are really doing the needful, all the out going beneficiaries will praise you. But rather, it is the opposite you received. Can’t you see how everyone is still calling for Afolabi to return? I remembered how we laboured for PMB re-election”.
Tiffany puts her own reaction this way: ”
Shebi it’s only protest that you have seen that your body is shaking? Keep pushing these youths to compromising situations with hunger until they can’t take it anymore…”
Nwaka onyeka thus questions, “How can you refuse to pay June stipend when July is almost ending? Is it not wickedness? What will you gain from doing such?
Monica Ghinsel in her own reaction says,
“Nigeria’s money can accommodate all of us, batch A, B, C and even D if you want. See MDA’s everywhere with empty offices and desk, nobody to occupy it. Beneficiaries can be absorbed into Police, Immigration, FRSC etc. Think about it”.
Recall that ourworldgist had some times in past published how they accused Minister Sadiya of Using Media Against Them and Sponsoring & Non-Existing Group Against Their Permanency Agitation
