The Former Nigerian Vice President, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, along Reno Omokiri and Senator Shehu Sani have reacted to the recent fuel price hike that has generated public outcry.
Recall that Nigerian government amidst covid-19 pandemic has on Wenesday 2nd September, 2020 announced the fuel hike from N145 to N151 per litre.
This ugly development has generated public reactions among Nigerians.
In his own reaction, Atiku Abubakar says, ” I reject the increased electricity tariffs. Coming out of the lockdown, Nigerians need a stimulus, not an impetuous disregard for the challenges they face. Many Nigerians have not earned an income for months, due to no fault of theirs.This increase is ill-timed and ill-advised”.
To Reno, one of Nigerians finest social media activist, he says, “In the 2020 budget, General @MBuhari doubled the amount he spends on feeding. He is enjoying at your expense, yet, he wants to punish you with ₦162 fuel? They say Ghana is bad, yet Ghana paid utility bills for Ghanaians during lockdown!”.
To Senator Shehu Sani, he says, “What’s going up;Foreign loans,Electricity tariff,Pump price,Cost of Data,Cost of Rice,VATs,Tuition fees,Cost of living;What’s going down;Value of the Naira,Foreign reserve”.
