One of the well known Pro President Muhammadu Buhari Supporters, who is also a political analyst, King Sadiq Attah Umar, has publicly apologized to his political friend, Mr Eric Amodu who warned him that ‘though Goodluck wasn’t the best option for Nigeria at a time but that President Buhari can’t/couldn’t be a better option to him.
According, to Umar, having xrayed President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration in the last five years and also under studied his administration left over during his military regime, he has come to term that he has nothing serious to offer Nigeria and Nigerians.
He however regretted for supporting President Muhammadu Buhari the way he did with passion and conviction that he was a better candidate than Goodluck then.
In his apt and painstaking write-up, Umar says, “Dear Eric, after the elections, I boasted and further asked you to take me these pictures in the office, then I asked you to mark my words that things would be better than it was for the masses but today, I’m apologetic. I’m sorry I argued with you! I can confirm your prophecy already. Forgive me for the plenty months, days and hours I thoroughly argued with you. God bless you, brother”.
Umar’s full statement reads, “In 2014/2015, I gave my all in the bid to convince my close associates and colleagues into supporting President Buhari.
Although I didn’t lose my manners while doing all that but I was very firm with my understanding of the political game.
of course, I didn’t engage in social media madness because I knew many who were supporting him on Facebook especially, didn’t do much on the field when the real game started.
As a matter of fact, I didn’t lose my sense while engaging people with political matters.
But something keeps disturbing me for days now. I want to apologise to one person that suffered most in my political engagements and support for Buhari, Eric Amodu who’s a colleague and a renowned political analyst. He stood for GEJ but very unbiased at that.
We would resume work in the morning and keep talking politics till closing hours.
We didn’t spare weekends either till after the elections. Like a prophet, one of his major warnings was, “Sadiq, my brother, stop supporting this man wholeheartedly, even if he wins eventually, his government will never be friendly with the average Nigerians.”
Dear Eric, after the elections, I boasted and further asked you to take me these pictures in the office, then I asked you to mark my words that things would be better than it was for the masses but today, I’m apologetic.
I’m sorry I argued with you! I can confirm your prophecy already. Forgive me for the plenty months, days and hours I thoroughly argued with you. God bless you, brother. 🙏”.
