The Npower volunteers have announced the mega protest on 1st October 2020 after the Minister in charge of the programme, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq failed to fulfil several promises made to the beneficiaries on behalf of the federal government.
According to the statement made available by the leader of the beneficiaries, comrade Pelemi, he said, “We all need to match to Abuja come 1st October 2020 to show our displeasure over Hajiya Sadiya who has made several promises to the beneficiaries without fulfilling one”
He added, “Let us celebrate Nigeria independence in another way and let the world know it is neo-colonism.
Let the world know that 500000 young N-Power graduates were asked to wait for transition that is not visible.
We need to let the world know that this government is a rape on young Nigerians; I hope our voices will roar this time?!”
You recall that after announcing the disengagement of batches A and B beneficiaries from the scheme and promised enhancement scheme, the federal government through the Minister in charge of the programme, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has made so many conflicting promises without any result to show for it thus, a situation that has led the beneficiaries to stage several protests to demand for permanency or N5Million exit package.
For example, out of those many promises made by the Minister were/are ” transition scheme, community policing, absorption into MDAs among many others.
