The federal government through, Laolu Akande the senior special assistant on media and publicity to the president made known to the general public that the “covid-19 survival fund” program will be realized via active implementation of economic sustainability plan.
Akande stressed that the government of president Buhari is committed to lifting Nigerians out of poverty and reducing the pains and negative impact of corona virus on the people.
He added that the administration was set to spend N2.3 trillion to manage the economy fall outs of corona virus and prevent the country from going into deep recession
He revealed that the duration of the fund for the MSME survial fund initiative is to provide support for the period of three months.
And for the Beneficiaries of the fund: the micro small and medium enterprise and the self employed individuals, the following conditions are spelt out for the applicant:
1 . must be a Nigerian
2 . the CEO must have a BVN
3 . the business must be registered with corporate affairs commission
While for the self employed individuals, the following category of persons are recognized:
1 . Artisans, like electricians, brick layers, plumbers etc
2 . Transport business operators
