Report reaching #ourworldgist indicated that Tanker accident opposite Kogi State polytechnic Lokoja about two hours ago has claimed lives of not less than 65 people.
According to our reporter, Ozovehe O, the victims were mostly, students of Kogi Poly, pupils, Artisans and residents of Felele area of Lokoja.
Our reporter explained that, the Tanker who felt off the right lane of the road as a result of over speed could not control the speed when an oncoming Toyota Camery was coming from the opposite direction which led to head on collusion.
It was gathered that the Tanker that was carrying petroleum gut fire along with many vehicles around and the buildings along the road.

While the properties destroyed couldn’t be quantified at the time of filing this report, not less than 65 bodies burnt beyond recognition have been discovered.
Our reporter also gathered that the fire that lasted for over two hours plus couldn’t be brought under control as the fire service personnel in Lokoja later arrived without equipment to put off the fire.
When asked why late arrival, one of the staff of fire service who pleaded for anonymity said, the fire service station of the state has no capacity neither equipment to fight fire inferno.
