Nigerian Lawmakers have been called upon to ensure speedy passage of electoral reform bill into law as part of government commitment to ensure Nigerians’ vote count at all levels of election.
Pastor Enejoh Sani, an advocate of good governance, made this call on Monday being 26th October 2020 in an interview with African Independent Television ( AIT ).
Enejoh Sani said the level of impunity and perpetual abuse of power by those in government which has given room for poor governance without accountability should immediately stop to pacify angry Nigerian Youths.
While lamenting on the alarming rate of unemployment in the country which youths are the worst hit, he also drew government attention to the poor state of infrastructure across the Nation to include bad roads, poor health care among others.
He emphasised that the ENDSARS protests which has Metamorphosed into demanding for good governance should not be handled with levity as Nigeria is sitting on the time bomb.
He further stressed that electoral reform which has passed 2nd reading should be given accelerated attention to show that government is ready to end electoral fraud which has brought some misfit politicians on board as Governors and representatives today.
Asked on the way forward after ENDSARS protests agitation, Pastor Enejoh Sani appealed to Nigerian Youths not to allow their meaningful agitation to degenerate into the state of anarchy adding that the price of peace is cheaper than the cost of war.
He concluded that government should painstainkingly look into the demands of the Nigerian Youths and ensure that they are sincerely and holistically attended to while engaging them in table negotiation.
