An Imam in Gambia identified as Baboucarr Ngum in the satellite town of Wullingkama, Alatentou area has defrauded his fellow Gambian, Ebrima Jarjue and also raped the man’s wife leading to unplanned pregnancy.
In a chat with ourworldgist, Ebrima Jarjue said that Baboucarr Ngum took advantage of his wife when he migrated from Gambia in 2019 to Qatar to find a better fortune.
When ourworldgist asked Ebrima Jarjue, how it all happen, he narrated thus:
” I left Wullingkama, Alatentou area of Gambia in 2019 to Qatar for a better fortune.
Before I left Wullingkama, Alatentou, Imam Baboucarr Ngum, who is known by everyone in the area was a close spiritual mentor the entire people around was looking unto as he was always preaching against corruption and social evil.
As a result, when I travelled to Qatar, I then found Imam, Baboucarr Ngum as the trusted personality who could receive money through Western money transfer for an onward delivery to my wife and my five children I left behind.
To my greatest surprise, I later found out that Imam, Baboucarr Ngum short-changed my wife and in some occasions, he will not even deliver the money to my wife.
The worst of it all, Imam, Baboucarr Ngum who is a husband of two wives ( Adama & Haddy ) has raped my wife and my wife is now two months pregnant”.
When ourworldgist further asked if he has notified police authority, he said, “I have reported the matter to Brusubi Police in Gambia but Imam is boasting about that nobody or no authority can do him anything”.
Ebrima Jarjue, therefore uses this medium to call on the Gambian authority, and other relevant institutions to give him justice as his wife is threatening to kill herself claiming she won’t be able to withstand the shame.
