Following the emergence of honourable Paul Gowon ( IJN ) as All Progressive Congress ( APC ) – party’s flagbearer, for Dekina / Bassa Federal Constituency, a group under the aegis of “Dekina / Bassa Renaissance for Positive Development ( DBRPD ), has frowned at APC’s decision for picking such a health challenged personality to represent the area.
In a statement signed and made available to press men by the President of the association, Mr Mudi Ibrahim on Monday being 30th May 2022, said, the business of the legislation, is such a challenging one that requires, intelligent, smartness and mental alertness adding that Honourable Paul Gowon ( IJN ), who has been battling with health challenge since 2014 should not be a candidate that will square up with the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ).
The group lamented why APC will be so insensitive and callous to feature such an ill health challenged personality for such an important national assignment.
While the group called on the APC to renege its decision, it also advised Honourable Paul Gowon IJN, to reject APC’s offer and concentrate on taking good medical care of himself stressing that “health is wealth”.
