He said, ” Bello has on several occasions threatened to eliminate me following my interest to contest for Kogi gubernatorial election under SDP”.

Speaking further, he explained, ” Bello came attacking me and my supporters with thugs disguised in Police Uniform who fired direct bullet at vehicle”.

” The only saving grace was that my vehicle is a bullet proof type”.

” You can imagine what could have happened if I was in an ordinary vehicle”.

He added, ” this attack will not make me to withdraw my aspiration which is to become the next Governor of Kogi State by God’s grace through popular vote for the betterment of all Kogites rather, it can only encourage me to pursue my aspiration the more which is perceived to be the wish of the majority of Kogites”.

“As it is, I’m the most acceptable and the most populous candidate among the Aspirants in Kogi State today and I will stay in the contest for the masses to decide who they want”.

He concluded, ” I called on President Ahmed Bola Asiwaju Tinubu, the amiable president of Federal Republic of Nigeria not to allow this barbaric act to be swept under the carpet which is capable of causing ethnic war that will lead to break down of law and order rather pray that Governor Yahaya Bello’s power drunk is put to check and sanctioned accordingly”.
