Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the Kogi State Governorship election on November 11th, 2023, expressed his gratitude to the people of Kogi for their unwavering support and resilience during an electrifying rally held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

The event was organized by UDAMA IGALA ASSOCIATION WORLDWIDE in collaboration with I C.D.A in honor of Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and his deputy, Sam Abenemi.

During the rally, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka lauded the determination of the people of Kogi who braved the elements to demonstrate their support.

Despite the rain, supporters remained steadfast, signing solidarity songs, and this display of enthusiasm served as an encouragement to the SDP’s gubernatorial bid.

Described by many as the “multipurpose candidate,” Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka promised Kogites a brighter future if elected.

He pledged to prioritize massive infrastructural development, human capital development, agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, prompt salary payments, pension and gratuity disbursements, a social safety net for the elderly, and the creation of numerous job opportunities.

Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka interpreted the rain that fell during the rally as a sign of divine blessing, indicating that God had heard the cries of the people of Kogi and was ready to put an end to their challenges.

The candidate appealed to his supporters to avoid violence and instead focus on effectively communicating their manifesto to win over more voters.

He emphasized the importance of campaigning vigorously, resisting intimidation, and closely monitoring the voting process from polling units to ward headquarters, Local Government Headquarters, and ultimately to the state capital, where he hopes to be declared the winner on November 11th, 2023, by God’s grace.

The rally featured various speakers, including Prof. Sunday Ichado, Mr Gowon Yakubu Riot , Grand Patron of Udama Igala Association worldwide, I.C.D.A’s Chairman, Mr. Jiya, Captain Babanawa, and Honourable Usman Austin among others.

To add to the excitement, popular Igala cultural icons, Maja and Dalami Ayufa, Ebira’s cultural groups, Okun’s cultural groups, and conventional musicians from within and outside Kogi State were present to entertain the enthusiastic audience.

The rally left a powerful impression of unity and determination among the supporters of Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, as they look forward to the upcoming election with optimism and hope for positive change in Kogi State.
