Renowned sociocultural groups, UDAMA IGALA ASSOCIATION WORLDWIDE and Igala Cultural Development Association (I.C.D.A), extended their commendation to Kogi residents in Abuja for their resounding support of Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Speaking during a Mega rally organized by both associations, Prof. Sunday Ichado, representing UDAMA IGALA ASSOCIATION WORLDWIDE, urged the massive crowd to return home and encourage their communities to vote for MURI / SAM on November 11, 2023, for a revitalized Kogi State.
Earlier, Mr. Jiya, President of I.C.D.A in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), emphasized the unity of Igalas, Bass, Ebiras, and Okuns as brothers and sisters, united against the common enemies of bad governance.
He urged them to cast their votes for Muritala Yakubu Ajaka to usher in a better Kogi State.
In a separate interview, Mr. Sani Michael Omakoji, the National Secretary of UDAMA IGALA ASSOCIATION WORLDWIDE, expressed joy at the determination of the people, signaling a rejection of Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration.
He highlighted recent court judgments that challenged rigged senatorial seats, indicating a shift towards MURI of SDP, Abejide of ADC, and Dino Melaye of PDP.
Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, described as the “multipurpose candidate,” thanked his supporters for their overwhelming love and promised substantial development across various sectors, including infrastructure, human capital, agriculture, youth empowerment, salary payments, pension settlements, social safety nets, and job creation.
He interpreted the rain during the rally as a sign of divine blessing and a response to Kogites’ cries.
Ajaka appealed for non-violence, urging his supporters to convey their manifesto and expand their outreach.
He concluded by encouraging supporters to campaign vigorously, resist intimidation, and monitor votes from polling units to the state capital, where he anticipates victory on November 11, 2023.
Rtd Col. Babanawa implored the people to translate their support for MURI / SAM into action through their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), emphasizing that only the young and enterprising Muri can reverse the suffering in the state.
The rally was enriched with musical performances by Igala’s cultural groups, Ebira’s cultural groups, Okun’s cultural groups, and other musicians from Kogi and beyond.
