In a riveting gala match that aimed to resurrect the spirited memories of the 2000  AFCON finals in Lagos, Cameroon emerged victorious against Nigeria’s football greats with a 3-1 win.

The match showcased an electrifying performance by Cameroon’s Tchoutang Bernard, who orchestrated a pacy counterattack, delivering a precise assist to the legendary Samuel Eto’o.

Eto’o, in turn, skillfully shoved the ball into the back of the net, contributing to Cameroon’s halftime lead of 2-1.

Adding to the spectacle, Ndip Tambe unleashed a terrific shot in the second half, securing Cameroon’s triumph with a final score of 3-1.

The match, echoing the historic AFCON finals, witnessed Eto’o Fils Samuel’s brilliance on the field before he was substituted with Joseph Desiré Job.

Renowned Nigerian players, including Jay Jay Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, Kanu, Joshep Yobo, and Babangida, faced off against a formidable Cameroonian lineup featuring Eto’o Fils Samuel, Mettomo Lucien, Enoh Takang, Abanda Patrice, Alioum Boukar, Alioum Saidou, Timothe Essama Atouba, Job Desire, Raymond Kalla, Marcus Mokake, and Ndiefi Pius.

The gripping encounter not only entertained football enthusiasts but also served as a nostalgic journey, commemorating Cameroon’s 2000 AFCON victory over Nigeria in the final, clinching the championship with a thrilling 4–3 triumph on penalties.
