Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders from nine local governments in Kogi East, gathered today in Lokoja, have rejected the report of the zoning committee led by Hon. Tom Zekeri.

Representing nine local governments including Bassa, the stakeholders questioned the rationale behind the committee’s decisions under Tom Zekeri’s leadership.

The stakeholders referred the recommendation to a review committee, which includes former governors and pioneer state chairmen from Kogi East, chaired by Chief Odawn.

They highlighted the committee’s failure to transparently articulate how it arrived at its conclusions regarding the zoning of the state chairmanship to Olamaboro, and the allocation of both the zonal chairman and state publicity secretary positions to the Idah Federal constituency.

Meanwhile, party leaders have agreed to seeks the opinion of the leaders which include the former Governors, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, Capt. Idris Wada, Chief John Odawn and others from Kogi East .
