As the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, continues to evade the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) concerning his alleged involvement in a N84 billion scandal among other charges, a prominent group known as the Kogi Conscience Liberation Movement (KCLM) has expressed their support for the EFCC in an effort to secure his arrest.
In a statement released to journalists in Abuja on Friday, the KCLM announced that they will hold a solidarity march at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on April 29, 2024, at 9 a.m. to demonstrate their support for the agency.
The statement called on all its members, other civil society groups, and supporters of democracy both locally and globally to join the demonstration.
The group, committed to ensuring that Yahaya Bello is apprehended to account for his actions while in office, also stated that it is the duty of every conscientious Nigerian to “stop corruption and save democracy,” emphasizing that no one is above the law and highlighting that the days when Yahaya Bello, openly abused power under President Muhammadu Buhari unchecked are over.
The Kogi Conscience Liberation Movement (KCLM) is a powerful civil society organization in Kogi State dedicated to promoting good governance, justice, transparency, and adherence to the rule of law.
