Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James of Solemn Faith International Church has delivered a powerful dual message, urging believers to seek wisdom to remain profitable while emphasizing the importance of living a settled life as the key to a balanced existence.
Addressing his congregation in Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew intertwined these themes during a church service and a special men’s fellowship program.
During his sermon on “Divine Settlement via Open Doors,” Pastor Mathew highlighted the significance of living a settled life, equating it to living a balanced and fulfilled existence. Drawing from scriptures such as Revelation 3:7-8 and Jeremiah 48:11, he explained that divine settlement brings restfulness and establishment, allowing believers to abide in God’s peace and achieve balance in all areas of life.
Pastor Mathew further elaborated that being divinely settled enables individuals to manifest God’s power and greatness, demonstrating His faithfulness and proving to the world that they serve a living and true God.
He emphasized that divine settlement is not merely about achieving stability but also about bringing beauty and color to life, marking one’s existence with the fulfillment that comes from being rooted in God.
In parallel, during a men’s fellowship program where he preached on the topic “Profitable Men,” Pastor Mathew urged men to seek wisdom as a crucial pathway to becoming and remaining profitable in their lives.
He explained that true profitability begins with a man’s relationship with God, which then extends to his family, society, and even his spiritual leaders and ministry.
The pastor emphasized that to be profitable means to be useful and helpful, both to oneself and others.
He identified key factors such as embracing godliness, maintaining good works, and cutting off negative influences as essential steps toward becoming a profitable man.
Wisdom, according to Pastor Mathew, is fundamental to achieving true profitability and making meaningful contributions to one’s family and community.
Linking the themes of divine settlement and profitability, Pastor Mathew stressed that without wisdom, men cannot achieve the balance and fulfillment that come with being settled in God.
He warned against stinginess, associating it with negative consequences like illness, and encouraged men to be generous, noting that true usefulness to society does not require wealth but a willingness to give and serve.
In his concluding remarks, Pastor Mathew reminded his congregation that all-round settlement is an inheritance in Christ, and true fruitfulness comes from being firmly established in God.
He urged the men to strive to be profitable to God first, as this is the foundation for enjoying prosperity and being effective instruments in God’s hands.
“To live a settled life is to live a balanced life,” Pastor Mathew reiterated, underscoring the importance of wisdom in achieving both profitability and divine settlement.
He noted that the to wisdom and generosity a man brings to his family are what truly make him profitable in their lives, and that this profitability determines his productivity in life.
