In a remarkable demonstration of commitment to education and healthcare, former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has once again shown his unwavering dedication to the development of critical sectors in Nigeria.

On 15th October 2024 being Wednesday, Obi returned to Grimard College of Nursing Sciences in Anyigba, Kogi State, to fulfill a promise he made during his previous visit three months ago.

During that earlier visit, Obi generously donated ₦10 million to support the institution’s efforts in enhancing the quality of learning for its students.

However, beyond financial support, the college’s management led by the Proprietor and Rector shared their pressing need for a 32-seater coaster bus.

This bus, crucial for transporting nursing students to clinical experience locations, was necessary to secure accreditation for the college’s programs.

In further discussions with the Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Adaji, Obi was informed of the staggering cost of a brand-new bus, which exceeded ₦100 million.

Despite the financial challenge, the Bishop noted that a fairly used bus within the range of ₦20 million to ₦30 million would sufficiently meet their needs.

In a heartwarming gesture, Obi returned to the college and personally presented the much-needed 32-seater bus.

The fairly used bus, valued within the range provided by the institution, will enable students to carry out their vital clinical experience assignments, a cornerstone of their training.

Not stopping there, Obi further donated an additional ₦5 million to cover the cost of registration, insurance, and other necessary expenses for the bus for one year, ensuring the institution is fully equipped to meet its immediate operational needs.

Obi expressed his deep appreciation to the Proprietor, management, and staff of Grimard College for their warm reception and for their relentless efforts to improve the lives of young Nigerians through their focus on education and healthcare.

With his latest contributions, Peter Obi continues to exemplify the values of leadership, philanthropy, and a passion for a reformed Nigeria driven by education and health.
