A cross-section of Nigerians had reacted with disappointment as the so-called federal government recruitment site, under President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, turned out to be fake.
According to many Nigerians who attempted to apply for the advertised positions by the Civil Service Commission, the website has been a mere facade, as it has remained inaccessible since its announcement in early February 2025.
Expressing their frustration, they noted that the advertised site, with the web address www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng, has remained inactive, even though it was officially set to close on March 10, 2025.
Some of their reactions on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, are as follows:
Ibrahim Gadoki remarked: “The so-called federal government recruitment site under President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is no different from that under President Muhammadu Buhari, as the slots are usually distributed among All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders.”
In his reaction, Kayode Bamidele said: “I don’t know why these people continue to make a fool of us! Why advertise a site for Nigerians to apply when politicians have already shared the slots among themselves? #Revolution is coming sooner than expected. When that time comes, they will regret their heinous actions.”
Fati Abas complained: “When you click on the site, it loads to 100% but never opens, no matter how long you wait. These people are scammers, and Nigerians must flush them out of power.”

Abanikoro Suraju added: “The site is just a camouflage, as the slots have already been shared among corrupt federal lawmakers, greedy governors, and APC stakeholders.”
It will be recalled that in early February 2025, the Nigerian government, under President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, announced vacancies in various ministries and MDAs, inviting Nigerians to apply online. Ironically, the site has remained inaccessible to ordinary Nigerians a situation many suspect to be a deliberate attempt to deny the masses opportunities while favoring the children of politicians.
Protesters have called on the federal government to urgently address the issue. Otherwise, they threaten to escalate their complaints to the international community and notable civil society organizations to express their frustration.
Although the recruitment website was originally set to close on March 10, 2025, no ordinary Nigerian has been able to successfully apply for a job, as the site remains inaccessible.
