PORT HARCOURT – In a deeply impactful service held on Sunday at Solemn Faith International Church, the General Overseer, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James, delivered a profound message titled “Gilgal Experience.”

The church, located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, was filled to capacity as worshippers gathered in expectation for a divine encounter.

Pastor Mathew preached from the book of Joshua (Josh. 5:13-15, 9), explaining that Gilgal is not just a geographical location, but a spiritual process and a prophetic season in the life of every believer.

He described Gilgal as a place of transformation, restoration, and divine re-alignment, where God removes shame and prepares individuals for purpose.

He emphasized that the meaning of Gilgal“rolling away” or “wheel” symbolizes the transition from past failures into divine assignment.

According to him, it was at Gilgal that the children of Israel were repositioned after years of wandering. “Gilgal is where the old is buried and the new begins,”

Pastor Mathew said, highlighting it as a place where destinies are refined.

A key statement that resonated throughout the sermon was his declaration: “Kings do not look for people, people look for kings.”

Pastor Mathew used this to stress the importance of identity, spiritual maturity, and divine positioning.

He noted that leadership in the kingdom of God is not about self-promotion, but about attracting relevance through divine backing and obedience.

He further taught that divine instructions are often the bridge between stagnation and progress.

Using examples from the lives of Saul and Joshua, he pointed out how timely obedience and reverence for God’s command could make or break a destiny.

He warned that disobedience, regardless of one’s gifting, leads to destruction, referencing Hosea 4:6.

Pastor Mathew encouraged the congregation to honor spiritual authority and to value the role of spiritual fathers in their journey to fulfillment.

He stated that favor flows from alignment and that obedience is the currency of advancement. “You may come into Gilgal empty or broken, but you are not permitted to leave the same way,” he declared.

The service featured powerful worship renditions by the Solemn Voice choir, which stirred deep emotions and ushered in a strong spiritual atmosphere.

This was followed by explosive prayer sessions that targeted healing, restoration, and divine direction, all tied to the Gilgal experience.

Several members of the congregation shared moving testimonies of God’s intervention, including physical healings, breakthroughs in business, and reconciliation in families. These testimonies were received with joy and further solidified the impact of the message delivered.

In closing, Pastor Mathew reminded the church that in the journey of recovery, the choice of words, obedience to instruction, and association with the right people are key to progress. “There is nothing lost that cannot be recovered,” he said, offering hope to all in attendance.

The Gilgal Experience service concluded on a high note, leaving the congregation spiritually uplifted and with a deeper understanding of their walk with God. The day affirmed Solemn Faith International Church’s growing reputation as a center of prophetic teaching, transformation, and divine encounters.
