The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James has warned that those who live a fake life today cannot escape the looming reality of tomorrow.
He gave this thought-provoking charge during Sunday’s service while preaching on the topic “The Reality of Holiness” with scriptural references drawn from 2 Chronicles 20:21, Acts 27:22, and Psalm 92:9.
According to the cleric, holiness comes at a cost, and every believer must be willing to pay the price that accompanies it. He explained that holiness requires sacrifice, modesty, morality, submission, and at times, living at the mercy of others. He noted that circumcision of the heart, a life of separation, and absolute surrender to God are among the true prices of holiness.
Pastor Mathew further emphasized that quitting a sinful lifestyle demands the consciousness that God will bring all things into judgment. He reminded the congregation of the reality that everyone came into the world naked and will leave it the same way, stressing the need for humility and total dependence on God.
In addressing how to overcome losses in life, the pastor highlighted the need for God’s direction and guidance, which come through His Word, through spiritual teachers, meekness, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. He also warned against keeping wrong company, urging Christians to be cheerful in all circumstances as commanded in the Scriptures.
Delivering some striking quotes during the message, Pastor Mathew declared: “If you live a fake life today, you can’t escape being a failure tomorrow.” He clarified that holiness does not mean missing out on life but noted that something must leave a person’s life for God’s blessings to manifest. He added that until one is willing to pay the price of holiness, divine blessings cannot be granted.
He further stated that prosperity cannot be achieved without passing moral tests, insisting that no one loses anything by living a holy life, but may lose everything by choosing a sinful lifestyle. According to him, when God guides an individual, Satan cannot afflict them, and men are compelled to give such a person due regard.
The pastor also underscored the importance of association, stressing that those who journey with a person determine the battles they face. He concluded by saying that perseverance is often tied to one’s excitement in serving God.
The service was marked by spirit-lifting ministration from the church choir, Solemn Voice, followed by explosive prayer sessions. The atmosphere was charged with faith, fervency, and testimonies of God’s presence among His people.
