It was a Spirit-filled service at Solemn Faith International Church, Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, as both the General Overseer, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Hope Mathew Eleojoh James, delivered thought-provoking messages on holiness and unwavering devotion to God.
Preaching on the topic “The Reality of Holiness,” Pastor Mathew James declared that having dove eyes signifies undistracted faith and a singular focus on Jesus Christ.
Drawing from 2 Chronicles 20:21, Acts 27:22, and Genesis 8:8, he explained that just as the dove has binocular vision that restricts its focus to one object, Christians must maintain a singular devotion to Christ.
He noted that dove eyes symbolize purity, faithfulness, gentleness, peace, and serenity—qualities that reflect the lifestyle of holiness. According to him, “Holiness should not be seen as imprisonment but as enrichment through the quickening of the Spirit.”
Earlier in the service, Pastor Mrs. Hope Mathew Eleojoh James preached on the topic “The Lifestyle of Holiness,” where she stressed that living a holy life is the same as living for God.
Referencing 2 Chronicles 16:29, Romans 6:19 & 22, 2 Peter 3:11, and 1 Thessalonians 4:1–7, she explained that holiness is revealed through sanctification and righteous living. She emphasized that holiness is a life of wholeness, a reflection of God’s nature, a safeguard against sin, and a pathway to higher dimensions of God’s blessings.
In her words, “You are formed by God for transformation, not for confrontation. God wants to present Himself a glorious, holy, and sanctified people.”
The service featured inspiring ministration from the church choir, Solemn Voice, alongside explosive prayer sessions that filled the atmosphere with worship, healing, and spiritual upliftment. Worshippers also shared massive testimonies of God’s intervention, underscoring the impact of the messages and the move of the Holy Spirit.
