Port Harcourt – Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James Mathew Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, has declared that blessing is both impactful and transferable.
He made this revelation during Sunday’s worship service while preaching a thought-provoking message titled “The Power of Blessing.”
Taking his Bible text from Genesis 12:1–3 and Deuteronomy 28:1–2, Pastor Mathew explained that blessings operate in three realms the command blessing, the covenant blessing, and the swarm blessing.
He emphasized that each realm is a dimension through which God empowers His people to experience divine elevation and fulfillment of destiny.
The man of God described a blessing as a divine empowerment or supernatural endowment that brings ease to a person’s life and destiny.
He noted that from creation, as recorded in Genesis 1:28 and Genesis 2:7–8, God’s intention was to empower man to prosper, reign, and live in abundance.
According to Pastor Mathew, the necessity of blessing is rooted in God’s ultimate plan and purpose for humanity.
He stated that God’s desire is to birth great, strong, and mighty nations through His people, making them generationally famous, distinguished, and impactful across the earth.
He further explained that believers are not only blessed for personal benefit but also to become channels of blessing to others, dispersing goodness and touching lives positively.
He added that part of God’s design for blessing is to raise His children as spiritual fathers to the universe, men and women who exercise divine authority and stewardship over creation.
In outlining how believers can provoke the release of blessings, Pastor Mathew highlighted consecration, obedience, and engagement with the Word of God as key requirements.
He emphasized that a consecrated life attracts divine favor and that total obedience to God’s word guarantees fullness of blessing. He also noted that the communion table serves as a powerful channel for the flow of God’s blessing, drawing scriptural references from 2 Corinthians 8:9, John 6:53–56, and 1 Corinthians 10:6.
Throughout the message, Pastor Mathew shared several insightful quotes that resonated deeply with the congregation. He stated that through redemption, blessings have become the believer’s inheritance in Christ, adding that the blessings of the Lord are sure, durable, and eternal. He further explained that blessings can be both imparted and transferred, citing biblical examples such as Job 29:13, Numbers 27:18–20, and Genesis 49:25–26.
In a powerful declaration, the pastor asserted that a blessed man cannot remain hidden for long, as divine favor always finds expression. He urged believers to make godly choices, stressing that “your choice of living determines your place in the blessing.”
He also encouraged the congregation to remain diligent in studying the Word of God, declaring that “if you read the Word, in blessing you will lead the world.” According to him, the fulfillment of obedience is what guarantees the fullness of blessing, and purity remains a major determinant of lasting divine favour.
The service was filled with vibrant worship led by the Solemn Voice Choir and was marked by mind-blowing testimonies from members who shared the wonders of God’s blessings in their lives.
In his closing remark, Pastor Mathew summarized the day’s message with a profound statement: “Purity plus purity equals God’s lasting blessings.”
The atmosphere of the service reflected deep spiritual engagement, faith-building insights, and a renewed understanding that blessings from God are not only divine endowments but also powerful forces capable of transformation and generational impact.
