The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Plot 21, Road 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James , has declared that God’s blessing is a monumental force capable of quenching the power of darkness.
He made this profound revelation during today’s service while continuing his ongoing teaching series, “Keys to Accessing and Sustaining the Blessing,” now in its seventh part.
Preaching from Genesis 1:28 and Psalm 100:4, Pastor Mathew emphasized that the blessing of God has the divine capacity to transform every life it rests upon.
He illustrated this with biblical accounts of men such as Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Obed-Edom, and Peter—individuals whose destinies shifted dramatically by virtue of the blessing.
According to him, no life can encounter the blessing of God and remain the same.
Pastor Mathew continued by explaining that the blessing not only changes the life of its direct carrier but also affects the lives of people around them.
He drew references from Scripture, including the stories of Lot, Laban, Potiphar, David, and Peter, noting that the presence of a blessed person naturally brings favour, progress, and divine help to those connected to them.
Expanding further, he stated that the blessing carries a societal impact when properly harnessed. Using Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph as examples, he showed how nations experienced peace, prosperity, and advancement because of individuals who carried the blessing.
He urged believers to become agents of peace in their environments by seeking, praying for, pursuing, and following peace in accordance with scriptural injunctions.
Speaking on how to access and sustain the blessing, Pastor Mathew stressed that thanksgiving remains the most powerful key.
He explained that a heart of gratitude attracts the abiding presence of God, unlocks fruitfulness, and provokes multiplication.
He added that thanksgiving ushers believers into all-round perfection, abundant grace, and answered prayers.
Quoting passages from Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Thessalonians, he encouraged the congregation to maintain a lifestyle of continuous gratitude.
In his conclusion, Pastor Mathew reminded worshippers to give thanks in all things and at all times, emphasising that God makes a way for those who live with a grateful heart.
He further advised believers to give thanks in the name of the Lord, not merely out of personal need, noting that thanksgiving shifts focus from challenges to God’s faithfulness.
Throughout the message, Pastor Mathew delivered several striking statements that resonated with the congregation.
He affirmed that blessing transforms lives and counteracts the deforming power of curses and darkness. He described blessing as a force that activates light and manifests visibly in the lives of those around a blessed individual.
He also highlighted that giving is not limited to material resources and described thanksgiving as a seed that inevitably produces a harvest. According to him, the presence of God unlocks the blessing, thankfulness leads to fruitfulness, and appreciation positions believers for more.
The service was beautifully complemented by a powerful ministration from the Solemn Voice Choir and uplifting testimonies from members, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and spiritual illumination that aligned perfectly with the day’s message.
