The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James, has emphasized the transformative power of gratitude, noting that “thankfulness attracts fruitfulness, while sadness attracts barrenness.”
He gave this admonition during today’s Sunday service while preaching on the topic “The Benefits of Thanksgiving.”
Pastor Mathew explained that thanksgiving begins with a consciousness of God’s presence, as reflected in Psalms 100:3-4 and Judges 6:12-14.
According to him, acknowledging God’s nearness opens the door to the release of divine blessings, citing Psalms 50:12-15 and 23.
Among the blessings he highlighted were fruitfulness, multiplication, answered prayers, good health, and divine preservation, drawing references from Genesis 1:28, Joel 1:12, Jeremiah 30:19, Philippians 4:6, Luke 17:17-19, and Malachi 2:1-3.
He further explained that quality thanksgiving begins with recognizing God as the source of all things and accepting everything as His will.
Thanksgiving, he noted, also stems from understanding life as a privilege and offering quality sacrifices as instructed in scriptures such as Leviticus 22:29 and Psalm 116:17.
During the message, Pastor Mathew shared several notable quotes, including: “Giving thanks gives,” and “You will enjoy His presence when His presence is treasured above all things.”
He reiterated that thankfulness naturally produces fruitfulness, whereas sadness leads to barrenness, adding that if a believer’s voice of thanksgiving must be heard, their sacrifice of thanksgiving must also be seen and accepted by God.
The service featured soul-lifting worship by the Solemn Voice choir and several mind-blowing testimonies from members who shared the impact of God’s goodness in their lives.
