Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF ), Abubakar Malami (SAN) has submitted three names recommended to replace Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

It was learned that Malami recommended three persons for President Muhammadu Buhari to pick a replacement for Magu after calling for the sack of the EFCC boss over sundry offences such as diversion of recovered loots, insubordination, amongst others.

According to THEWILL, the three names are Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Sani Usman (retd); the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bala Ciroma, who was EFCC Head of Operations, and Ms. Diseye Nsirim-Poweigba, a retired police commissioner in Niger State.

Before the new memo from Malami, Buhari had vetted retired DIG Usman and Nsirim-Poweigba, as a replacement for Magu.

A source has told the news platform that the President is no longer considering Diseye Nsirim-Poweigba for the post, insisting that Buhari has also foreclosed re-nominating Magu for the job.
