The former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women’s Leader, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa, has expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming love and recognition she received from the Igala community in Abuja.
Speaking to OurWorldGist. OurWorldGist after being honoured with an Excellence Award for her humanitarian contributions, Hajiya Baiwa, often described as a beacon of hope for the downtrodden, expressed her amazement at the gesture.
Noted for her humanitarian efforts in providing food and support to thousands of youths across Kogi State and beyond, Hajiya Baiwa is a household name in Kogi and beyond.
The award was presented by Elder James Alabi Okai at his palace Abuja on Saturday being 30th November 2024.
The event, which also marked the launch of the Igala Traditional Chiefs Forum Abuja’s maiden almanac, celebrated her contributions to societal development.
Meanwhile, Hajiya Baiwa expressed her joy at being recognized by such a revered body, describing the honour as both humbling and inspiring.
The ceremony featured lectures by prominent Igala figures, including Dr. James Abalaka and technocrat Rekiyah Momoh Abaji, who highlighted the importance of unity and development within the Igala-speaking community.
The ceremony was attended by 92 chiefs from the forum, along with other notable sons and daughters of the Igala Kingdom.
