The Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has challenged the alumni of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), to mobilize resources in support of the government’s efforts to improve the standard of education in the institution and the state at large.
This call was made during the inauguration of the new national officials of the Alumni Association, held at the Ta’al Conference Hotel, Lafia, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The Governor, who was represented by the State Head of Civil Service, Barrister Abigail Waya, congratulated the newly inaugurated officials and urged them to rally their members to mobilize resources for the development of their alma mater.
The Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, reaffirmed the management’s commitment to collaborating with development-oriented organizations to elevate the university to greater heights.
In a keynote address titled “Securing the Future: Trust Fund as Pillar for Alumni Legacy through Finance, Entrepreneurial Activities, and Leadership Continuity,” Dr. Vincent Paul, a senior lecturer at NSUK, emphasized the importance of a solid financial foundation in achieving set objectives.
He noted that while significant progress has been made, the new alumni leadership must strive to secure funds for infrastructural development and scholarship awards for indigent students.
The National President of the Nasarawa State University Alumni Association, Barrister Nuhu John Egya, expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in the newly elected leadership.
He pledged to work collaboratively with his team to bring meaningful development to their alma mater.

A key highlight of the event was the launch of a trust fund for legacy projects, spearheaded by the Chairman of the Occasion, Prince Suleiman Ahmed Eko. In a generous gesture, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada donated a brand new Toyota Sienna bus to the Association.
