Ejule, Ofu LGA,  Kogi State  – The community of Ejule has been thrown into mourning following the gruesome killing of Mr. Seidu, a well-known butcher and cow meat seller, in what is believed to be a premeditated act of kidnap and murder.

According to local sources, Mr. Seidu was contacted a day before the Sallah celebration by a man believed to be of Fulani origin.

The caller invited him to Achigili village in Dekina Local Government Area to inspect and potentially purchase a cow.

Trusting the business opportunity, Mr. Seidu made the trip but tragically, he never returned.

Days after his disappearance, his family received a disturbing call from individuals who claimed responsibility for his abduction.

They demanded a ransom of ₦2 million for his release. In a desperate bid to save his life, the ransom was paid.

However, the captors broke their promise; Mr. Seidu was neither released nor heard from again.

The matter was reported to the police, who launched an investigation.

Their efforts led to the arrest of two men, also identified as Fulani. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and took security operatives to the site where Mr. Seidu’s body was found buried in a shallow grave.

This tragedy has not only shocked the residents of Ejule but also stirred deep concern and anger within the community.

Many are now urging Ejule’s youth to take a stand, not through violence or internal conflict, but by actively working to safeguard their people and prevent such acts of brutality in the future.

As investigations continue, some community members are expressing fears that even if the perpetrators are convicted, they may eventually find their way back into society a possibility that leaves many uneasy and uncertain about justice being truly served.

The call from Ejule is clear: the safety of the community must come first, and unity among its people is more crucial now than ever.
