In a powerful message during Sunday service at Solemn Faith International Church, located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, the General Overseer, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James, delivered words of encouragement and divine insight to the congregation.
Preaching on the topic “The Benefits of Jehoshaphat Praise,” Pastor Mathew reminded worshippers that “storms we encounter in life are normal; however, just have Jesus in your boat to survive them.”
Taking his text from 2 Chronicles 20:20–25, Pastor Mathew explained the concept of Jehoshaphat praise, describing it as a powerful form of worship that captures God’s attention and moves Him to intervene in human affairs.
He emphasized that this kind of praise goes beyond singing; it becomes a spiritual weapon that invites God into life’s battles.
He recounted how, in the biblical account, Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah sought God through praise, prompting several miraculous outcomes. God provided supernatural help, took control of the battle, and caused the enemies to turn against one another.
Pastor Mathew highlighted how God set ambushes for their enemies, turned their evil intentions back on them, and ultimately granted His people total victory.
He stressed that these were not just historical accounts, but realities that believers can still experience when they activate the power of praise.
Pastor Mathew noted that Jehoshaphat praise doesn’t only bring victory in battle; it also ushers in divine blessings. He spoke of how praise led to the transfer of wealth, all round rest, and celebration among God’s people clear signs that God rewards sincere praise with both spiritual and material benefits.
He further emphasized the keys to making this kind of praise effective.
According to him, valuing one’s spiritual lineage, believing in God’s word, earnestly seeking Him, and involving the entire family in worship are crucial components. When seeking God becomes a family pursuit, he said, it automatically becomes God’s business.
In his closing remarks, Pastor Mathew shared a series of impactful quotes that deeply resonated with the congregation. Among them were: “Your breakthrough is closer than your battle,” “When God helps you, no man can useless you,” and “It can only be over when God takes over.” He also reminded the congregation that “praise is the most potent weapon on earth” and that “no enemy is too strong to be defeated.”
The service was charged with spiritual energy. The church choir, Solemn Voice, delivered a powerful music ministration, while explosive prayer sessions further stirred the atmosphere. Many in attendance shared testimonies of divine intervention and breakthroughs, describing the service as truly life-changing.
As worshippers departed, they carried with them a renewed sense of hope and strength anchored in the assurance that while life’s storms are inevitable, survival is certain when Jesus is in the boat.
