Port Harcourt — In a stirring Sunday service held at Solemn Faith International Church, Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, the General Overseer, Pastor Mathew Eleojoh James, delivered a powerful message under the theme: “Engaging the Force of Fearful Praise.”
Addressing a spirit filled congregation, Pastor Mathew declared that “Fearful testimonies are weapons that force enemies to bow.” He emphasized that there is divine profitability in what he described as “fearful praise” a deep, awe-inspiring dimension of thanksgiving and worship that provokes the mighty acts of God.
Citing Exodus 15:11, the cleric reminded the congregation that fearful praise provokes fearful wonders from God.
He spoke passionately about the awe-inspiring miracles recorded in scripture, including the formation of man from the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7), the parting of the Red Sea where water stood like a wall on both sides (Exodus 14:22), and the supernatural moment when the sun stood still at Joshua’s command (Joshua 10:12–14). These wonders, he noted, are evidence of what happens when God’s people offer Him fearful praise.
Pastor Mathew went further to reveal that such praise also brings about fearful blessings, divine lifting, and testimonies that shake nations. “When fearful praise goes up, fearful testimonies come down,” he declared, referencing scriptures like Psalm 67, 1 Chronicles 29, and Revelation 19:10. He added that these testimonies do not only glorify God but serve as divine instruments for announcement and dominion. “Fearful testimonies are not ordinary. They make enemies bow in total surrender,” he said, referencing Psalm 18:44.
He highlighted that a lifestyle of fearful praise leads to flourishing and prosperity, assuring the congregation that a profitable life is the portion of those who praise God without restraint. “If life must be fair to you, then fearful praise must not be scarce in your life,” he stated emphatically.
The Sunday service was powerfully marked by vibrant worship led by the church choir, the Solemn Voice, whose ministration lifted the atmosphere into a new realm of worship. The service also featured explosive prayer sessions, marked by deep intercession and prophetic declarations.
The highlight of the service was the testimony segment, where members shared remarkable stories of God’s intervention in their lives healing, financial breakthroughs, restoration, and divine favor.
Pastor Mathew described these testimonies as the fruits of fearful praise, reinforcing his message that such praise compels divine responses and puts one’s enemies to shame.
In his final words, Pastor Mathew reminded the church that “when God lifts you, no man can limit you.” He urged believers to cultivate a lifestyle of praise that goes beyond routine worship to one that reverently acknowledges God’s majesty and provokes His mighty hand.
The atmosphere was charged with faith, joy, and expectation as worshippers departed, holding onto the truth that fearful praise indeed leads to a flourishing and profitable life.
