The General Overseer of Solemn Faith International Church, Mathew Eleojoh James, has declared that the extent of a person’s connection with God determines the level of blessings they receive.
Delivering his sermon during Sunday’s service at the church headquarters located at Road 21, Plot 14, Federal Housing Estate, Woji, Port Harcourt, Pastor Mathew spoke on the topic “Keys to Accessing and Sustaining the Blessing.” His message, drawn from Genesis 1:28 and Galatians 3:13–14, focused on the importance of maintaining a strong and consistent relationship with God as the source of all blessings.
He explained that a solid connection with God is essential for enjoying and sustaining divine favour. According to him, believers must protect their spiritual relationship by avoiding sin, unwholesome associations, overfamiliarity with sacred things, and a sense of entitlement that breeds complacency. He stressed that offences and distractions are among the major hindrances that weaken one’s connection with God and limit the flow of blessings.
Pastor Mathew also highlighted kingdom service as a vital pathway to divine reward, saying that God honours faithful, loving, and sacrificial service. He cited scriptural references from Matthew 6:33 and Exodus 23:25–26, emphasizing that service in God’s kingdom should not be done for recognition but from a sincere heart that seeks to glorify Him.
Speaking further, he identified prevailing prayers as a spiritual key to sustaining God’s blessings. Referring to Genesis 32:24–30 and Daniel 10:12–13, he explained that passionate, persistent, and targeted prayers attract divine intervention and breakthroughs. He maintained that believers who learn to travail and prevail in prayers will rise above poverty, curses, and limitations.
Throughout his message, Pastor Mathew shared profound insights on spiritual connection, noting that the strength of one’s relationship with God determines the quality of their blessing. He said that lives lose value when there is disconnection from God, but as long as believers remain focused and undistracted, their blessings cannot be hindered. He further emphasized that making impact in one’s generation becomes effortless when divine blessings are both released and sustained.
Concluding his sermon, Pastor Mathew affirmed that if the enemy cannot steal a believer’s blessing, they cannot stop that person’s voice, impact, or fulfilment in life.
The service was characterized by an atmosphere of deep worship, as the church choir, Solemn Voice, led the congregation in soul-lifting songs. It also featured remarkable testimonies from members, which many described as “massive and mind-blowing,” reinforcing the central theme of divine connection and supernatural blessings.
