President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to approve his request to secure a fresh loan of N850 billion to fund some projects in the 2020 budget. The Ondo State Government has rejected expired bags of rice from the 1,800 bags sent to the state by the Federal Government. The federal government sent about 1,800 bags of rice and vegetable oil to the state as part of measures to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown in the country. Governor El-Rufai of Kaduna State has extended the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic in the state by 30 days. The International Monetary Fund (IMF), is expected to recommend the approval of $3.4 billion in emergency funding for Nigeria as part of measures to cushion the impact of COVID-19 on the nation’s economy.
