The Coordinator of Coalition of Igala Community/ District Development & Sociocutural Organisation (CICDDASCO), DCN S S Agada, has on behalf of the Association empathised with the good people of Ogbabede ward over lack of Government presence in the area.

Mr S S Agada made this known during the Association’s advocacy visit to the ward at its headquaters, Ajogwoni on 25th October, 2019.

He added that, ” he was totally overwhelmed along his team to see large arable land suitable for farming and equally blessed with natural resources such as; gold, limestone, silver, precious stone and a host of many others in area”.

He further said, “it is regretable to know that the largest ward in Dekina LGA of Kogi State with fifty four (54) villages completely lacked social amenities like; Hospital, Access road, Electricity, portable water, schools and such other basic infrastructure”.

In another related development, the Chairman of Ogbabede Development Associstion (ODA), Mr Jones Iduh, thanked CICDDASCO for extending their advocacy visit to the area especially at this critical time where youth restiveness, thuggery, stealing, prostitution, and other social vices are now becoming a norm as a result of unemployment in the country.

Mr Jones Iduh noted with great dismay that “Ogbabede which is the voting strength of Dekina LGA completely lacked Goverment presence except the access road constructed by the Administration of Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris From Abocho to Ogbabede town around 2009”.

He added that “despite inadequacy of primary schools in the Area, non of the thirty (30) Primary Schools in the area has more than one Teacher, a situation he said is not also different at the only two secondary schools at Agada and Ajogwoni respectively.

Mr Jones Iduh while cautioning the youths of the area on the need to shun political violence, also appealed to the Association to help the area influence network providers to make their services available in the area as the area is totally in dark age at the moment.

Earlier, the CICDDASCO Coordinating team, DCN S S Agada led the team to pay courtesy visit on the paramount Traditional Ruler of the Community, HRH Jo Achimugwu ( Obicha of Ogbabede ) in his palace, Ajita.

The OBICHA in his response, thanked the team for the initiative taken by the Association in showcasing the developmental needs of the Igala / Bassa Nation.

The OBICHA who went down memory lane to give the history of the area also highlighted on the natural endowment of the area as he prayed that “God should lift Sons and daughters of the Area to positions where they would be able to bring attract development to the community.

As the culture of the land demands, the OBICHA presented a plate of Kola nut to the Association as he decreed peace on their deliberations.

The Meeting was well attended by Youths, Women leaders, professional Organisations as well as Gagos and Madakis of the area.
