After 79 days of unabated protest by batches A and B beneficiaries, Npower today being 19th August 2020, commences June 2020 payment.

According to one Ibrahim Muhammed who broke the news online, he said he could authoritatively confirm the payment of June stipend with a credit alert as shown below:

Further investigation by ourworldgist also revealed that Lagos Branch of Npower Beneficiaries have also confirmed the payment with a breaking news on their Facebook page as shown below:

Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries  Yakubu Sumaila Shadrack   who is being owed 29 months told ourworldgist ‘s reporter that he is yet to be paid the 29 month stipends including that of June 2020 and July 2020.

Recall that Npower beneficiaries across 36 states of the federation including FCT have been protesting over non payment of their stipends and what they called unlawful disengagement from the scheme without permanency or enhancement scheme as earlier promised them by the managers of Npower before Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq took over as Minister in charge of the scheme.

Thus, whether this payment would reduce protest by the beneficiaries who look determined and focused to press home their demand, we shall get to know in matters of days.
