A pressure group identified as “integrity group”, has warned NGOs to stop extorting money from clusters in the name of another ” account opening “.

The group led by one Olarewaju T, made this public outcry on social media, Thursday being 15th September, 2021.

The group accused some NGOs of making huge money on clusters in the name of account opening despite the fact that such act had been severally carried out in the past without result.

The statement reads:
“It has been brought to our notice that some thieves, some fraudsters and demons who call themselves NGO heads have started another round of extortion in the name of cluster account opening in Telpecon.

Some of these daredevil NGOS have collected not less than thirty thousands Naira from each clusters in the name of account opening.

It is reported that a particular NGO head has collected money from clusters for three consecutive times without opening any account.

Do not hesitate to report any extortion in whatever form. Stop being used as ATM by these blood sucking NGO heads. Enough is enough!. Directors should learn to stand up for their rights.

Do not be afraid to speak up. No NGO head can eat your money because you refused to be extorted from.

Note, Prof Isong and Telpecon BOT have warned several times against extortion of any type.

Finally, do yourself well to report any extortion to the pressure group for immediate action. Let us set an example with some one so that others who are planning to extort money will know that is no longer business as usual!”
