Stakeholders of Kogi State University, ( KSU ) Anyigba Alumni, have warned the institution of open glare of corruption and inordinate policy aimed at affecting the reputation of the University.
The Stakeholders of KSU Alumni made the observation on 30th December, 2021 when their members across the globe converged on Abuja to react to issues affecting the Alumni of the institution.
Part of their collective statement reads:
” It is unfortunate that the University that was established on Knowledge For Self Reliance now take some critical decisions on behalf of the Alumni without consultation.
We frown at the recent press release signed by the Registrar of the School, Alhaji Nuhu A Ahmed titled as Expiration Of Statement Of Results And Collections Of Original Digital Certificates: A Reminder “.
Statement also added, ” We were never informed of the development until this press release surfaced on the social media.
Social media alone should not be a channel for dissemination of information of such magnitude as in an ideal situation, the university ought to have done such publication at least in four of some national dailies and some notable Blog sites plus Radio and Television network news.
The collections of original certificate of any institution in Nigeria is at the discretion of candidate’s convenience and as the situation demands.
It is therefore shocking, embarrassing and an aberration for the university to come up with such development stating 31st January 2022nd as expiration of all statement of results without prior notice to the Alumni of the institution.
We are aware of how some few individuals are looting the account of KSU Alumni with First Bank Plc taking advantage of the politicised Alumnus Association.
We are not also ignorance of the fact that the fund when realized from the proposed collection of Digital Certificates is supposedly supposed to be meant for KSU Alumnus Association but some few Individuals who never wanted the Alumni to have a common forum are the ones feeding fact on the Alumni dues.
Our silence in the face of this open robbery and corruption should not be taken for granted as we are working tirelessly to reorganise and reposition the Alumnus Association that would be embraced by all.
We therefore condemned in its totality the said press release and charge the University to revise her decision immediately.
The current VC of the Institution Mrs Tenuche Marietu is someone we have absolute confidence in her leadership and we urge her to use her good office to call those sponsoring this enterprise to order”.
The tale end on the statement also reads: ” we know that Governor Yahaya Bello is not a nonsense fellow who will tolerate such an open robbery and as such we call on him to give executive order to stop the university from implementing this orchestrated plan ti defraud Alumni”.
Recall that the university through her Registrar, Alhaji Nuhu A Ahmed has released a press release on 27th December, 2021 how the statement of results from the school would become invalid on 31st January 2022nd should the Alumni who are yet to collect the original certificate fail to do so before the mentioned date.
