As speculation on all the acclaimed grants in Nigeria continues, staff of UBA who spoke with OurWorldGist on the condition of anonymity said, Theobarth foundation has disbursed first tranche of the grant to the qualified beneficiaries.
The fellow in a phone conversation on 12th June 2022 said, the disbursement to the first batch of beneficiaries was carried out nationwide by the financial Institution between the Month of Match to Mid April, 2022 with a standing instruction not to discuss about the disbursement outside the institution.
OurWorldGist further gathered that each beneficiary got the sum of N1.8 million without any deduction as all the bank charges were incurred by Theobarth Foundation.
The phone conversation also disclosed to OurWorldGist that the bank has also received draft from Theobarth foundation to commence second tranche of disbursement in a week time.
Asked how many beneficiaries were paid in the first tranche of the disbursement, the fellow said, she wasn’t privy to the information as she is only a cashier in a branch of the bank which makes it difficult for her to ascertain how many were paid nationwide.
