The High Commissioner of Gambia, His Excellency, Ambassador Mohamadou Musa Njie, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, has stated his commitment to ensuring the success of the Africa Women Conference 2022 ( 6th Edition ) which is set to hold in Banjul-Gambia from the 26th to 28th of October, 2022.
He also emphasised on the need for greater collaboration between Nigeria and The Gambia as well as other African countries in the areas of trade, investment, media, entertainment and cultural exchange.
The High Commissioner expressed optimism on the numerous benefits of the conference, he urged all delegates and participants attending this year’s conference in Gambia to take advantage of the business opportunities in the country and create productive partnership that will be beneficial to women across Africa.
Recall that , The last edition of the Africa Women Conference (AWC) held in Kigali, Rwanda on the 22nd to the 27th of November, 2021 with the theme ” Women’s participation in building an inclusive and sustainable Post-Covid economy. ”
It is also imperative to know that , Africa Women Conference was born out of the realization that African women have a lot to offer towards the growth and development of our dear continent.
Despite the enormous potentials, this crucial segment of society continues to be neglected and under-resourced.
The keys to changing these narratives, however, lie in those affected to unite and create Afrocentric solutions to the challenges they face.
The Africa Women Conference is creating the platform through which women can collaborate and build partnerships to empower not just themselves but their communities.
The Africa Women Conference is an initiative of The Helpline Foundation for the Needy Abuja in collaboration with the Echoes Africa Initiatives New York: both are non-governmental organizations focused on providing relief and economic empowerment for the less privileged in the society.
Africa Women Conference recognize the contributions of women towards the growth and development of Africa and encourage women to do more.
