Ibaji whose Local Government ( LGA ) headquarters is at Oyédéga in Kogi State that is reported by the most Media as the worst affected area by the ongoing flood has been excluded from the relief material list and replaced by ‘Okene’ without a trace of flooding.
According to OurWorldGist investigation, the list prepared by the Ministry of Works and Housing in Kogi saw Ibaji’s name excluded from the list on the basis of favouritism and tribalism.
Further finding revealed that the man ( Engr Abubakar Sadiku Ohere) in charge of the Ministry is an Ebira man from Kogi Central who has included Okene name at the detriment of Ibaji to favour his kins men.
The list was believed to has been sent to the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for immediate action by the government at the centre.
Meanwhile, this ugly development which is an open glare of injustice has generated a lot of reaction by Kogi Social Media users as many has called on the State government to reverse its decision immediately.
As at the press time, all effort made to speak with spoke person of the Ministry of Works and Housing in Kogi State proved abortive as the cell phone displayed on the website was not reachable.
