A Public Affairs Commentator, who is also a Blogger, Sani Michael Omakoji ( SMO ) has commended Department of State Service ( DSS ) for ensuring that the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai did not make President Ahmed Bola Asiwaju Tinubu ‘s Ministerial composition.

In an exclusive interview with OurWorldGist, SMO, said, ” Nigeria is a hetregenous society where you have diverse cultures, Religions and multi ethnic groups thus, appointing someone like Nasir El-Rufai who is a world known religious Extremist, a cunny criminally minded politician with a high level of leadership impunity to be part of Federal Executive Council of Nigeria will be insensitive and an affront to Nigerian democracy”.

SMO, who described Mallam Nasir El-Rufai as a junior Devil to Governor Yahaya Bello, of Kogi State, said, El-Rufai has in the past triggered religious fight between the Muslims in the Northern Kaduna and the Christians in the Southern Kaduna on numerous occasions including the recent one in the last gubernatorial election in the state where he played the role of a religious extremist in favour of the Muslim.

SMO added, ” I recalled with awe how El-Rufai connived with Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, in 2019 to subvert the will of Kogi People in favour of Bello without weighing the aftermaths effect which not for God’s divine intervention would resulted to ethnic war”.

SMO, also explained further, “this is the same El-Rufai against stakeholders’ advise who started Muslim/ Muslim gubernatorial ticket in a highly sensitive state of Kaduna and even when his candidate failed at the polls, he still made sure Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ), declare his candidate elected”.

SMO, remarked, ” such an individual with questionable attitudes should not be appointed to be among Federal Executive Cabinets as hid presence can difuse evil plan into his potential colleagues that might generate nagetive concern in Nigeria”.

Recall, in a covering letter signed by one Aminu Yusuf, on behalf of the Director-General, Department of State Services, dated August 4, 2023, with reference number SV.8/1430 titled, ‘Re: Security Vetting’ and addressed to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), which was obtained by Pressmen, the secret police wrote, “Further to this Service letter S.V.8/1426 dated 1st of August, 2023, giving provisional security clearance to three (3) ministerial nominees, including Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, pending conclusion of vetting. (Appendix ‘A’ instructive).

“This Service wishes to state that further vetting and background checks conducted revealed some underlined issues which have negatively affected the nominee and as such, it is recommended that El-Rufai’s clearance by the Senate of the National Assembly be stepped down until the issues are cleared as investigation continues”.

SMO concluded, ” President Tinubu ‘s led administration should continue to beem his search light on potential appointees before appointing them adding that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is one of such individual waiting to be treated like El-Rufai saying, he is a Devil living in human skin”.

Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, until on 4th August 2024, happens to be among Ministerial Nominees of President Ahmed Bola Asiwaju Tinubu before luck ran out of him.
