In the ongoing Kogi State Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship election petition (No:EPT/KG/03/2023), the SDP has formally served the All Progressive Congress (APC), APC governorship candidate Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as respondents.
Following an unsuccessful attempt at personal service, an order of substituted service was granted by Hon. Justice Yusuf A. B. K on December 13, 2023, and successfully executed at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja on December 15, 2023.
The respondents now have 14 days to respond to the petition, after which the petitioner, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka and the SDP, will have 7 days to reply on points of law.
Sources reveal that preparations for the pre-hearing conference are underway and are expected to commence following the expiration of the allotted time.
