The chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Dekina Local Government, Kogi State, Ibrahim Huseeini, has been suspended indefinitely following allegations of misappropriating ₦19 million from the party’s account.

The decision, backed by a vote of no confidence, was made by a majority of executive members at both local and ward levels.

In a letter dated January 21, party officials outlined the reasons for Huseeini’s suspension, which include the mismanagement of party funds, issuing threats to executive members, and engaging in anti-party activities during the recent gubernatorial election.

The suspension stems from resolutions by the LG Working Committee, accusing Huseeini of disrespecting established party protocols and institutions.

The letter addressed to Huseeini stated, “You are hereby instructed to submit all party materials in your possession to the divisional Secretary of the party.

Your actions have hindered the progress of the party by not adhering to the provisions of the party constitution.”

Signatories of the vote of no confidence at both the local and ward levels include Secretary Ademu Yusuf, Assistant Secretary Attai Joseph, Legal Adviser Jacob Atadoga, Auditor John Bala Amedu, Financial Secretary Usman Enema, Treasurer Salisu Shehu, Youth Leader Haruna Wada Ayuba Amedu, Ex-Official Danjuma Muhammed, Women Leader Alima Abuh, PRO 2 Omata Kebiru, Vice Chairman Salami Muhammed Omede, and Ward Chairmen from Ojikpalada, Egume, Emewe, Ogbabede, Oagnenigu, Iyale, Odu II, and Odu1.

This development highlights internal challenges within the party, as key officials express dissatisfaction with Huseeini’s conduct, accusing him of compromising the integrity of the PDP in the Local Government.

Meanwhile, the party expects a smooth transition with the submission of materials to the divisional Secretary as directed in the suspension letter.
