In a spirited sermon comemorating Mother’s Day at Winners Chapel in Anagada, Abuja, Pastor Thomas Elijah delivered a fervent prayer urging today’s mothers to emulate the legendary mothers who raised children to become pillars of society, such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, and business tycoons.
Addressing the congregation on the theme of “Covenant Day of Fruitfulness,” Pastor Elijah expressed concern over the declining values within families, attributing it to a lack of maternal guidance.
He lamented the prevalence of societal decadence, including involvement in fraudulent activities such as yahoo, yahoo act and excessive social media usage among the youth.
Calling for divine intervention, Pastor Elijah urged mothers worldwide to diligently oversee their children’s upbringing, instilling the necessary values and discipline.
He emphasized the importance of nurturing children to become productive members of society, rather than succumbing to negative influences.
Expounding on the theme of the service, while reading from several scriptures to include but not limited to: Romans 12: 11, John 1: 40-45, Luke 14:16 and 2 Corinthians 3:18, Pastor Elijah highlighted the importance of spiritual fruitfulness and urged believers to actively engage in kingdom advancement.
He stressed the need for a genuine commitment to serving God wholeheartedly, citing biblical references to illustrate the rewards of faithful service.
Identifying various forms of fruitfulness, Pastor Elijah emphasized the importance of physical, spiritual, and professional success, as well as marital and financial prosperity.
He underscored the belief that fruitfulness is both a command and a covenant right from God, asserting that barrenness has no place in the land.
Concluding his sermon, Pastor Elijah outlined key principles for achieving fruitfulness, including righteousness, faith, and faithfulness, while cautioning against strife and division.
The congregation, having partaken in holy communion and uplifted by soul-stirring praise from the choir, left the service imbued with a renewed sense of purpose and anointing.
